Here's what's happening in the garden this spring:
Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.
The highlight for me is the lilac bush. I planted it by my deck about eight years ago and it has never bloomed until now! Well, I take that back- last year there was one bloom, and I was over-the-top excited about that! I had assumed that it just didn't get enough sun where it was and had resigned myself to the fact that I would just have to accept it for what it was- a non blooming lilac bush. It had really gotten too big to move so I had no other choice. I wonder if it just takes that long for a lilac to settle in?
Update on the robin's eggs: sadly, abandoned :(. I kept peeking under there to see if I could figure out a "schedule" of sorts that Mrs. Robin might be keeping. I wanted to powerwash the deck in the least disruptive manner. In an entire week of checking, not one sighting of any robin parent. It's a wonder that robin's aren't on the endangered species list between the bluejays and bad robin moms.
