Spring cleaning started in earnest two weekends ago. Nothing like clearing out a room to make you take notice of the things you walk by on a daily basis. An fall in love all over again.
A good friend found this piece at a Goodwill Store a couple of years ago. She called me from the store and described it. I had been looking for a server for our dining room and from her description, this sounded like just what I had in mind. And it was tagged at $56.00. She offered to sit on it until I got there. Which I did, in just under a half hour.
It was nearly perfect. I had to saw off about six inches from the legs for a better fit under the window. Tipped it over right there where it would stay, and cut with a hand saw. I also sanded and re-finished the top, with the intention of eventually doing the rest. Probably not. I think I like it just fine as is.
